Our approach to investment management is sophisticated, but our process is simple. It revolves around four core tenets:
We believe in starting with a top-down approach and utilizing a global-macro viewpoint. We start by researching and understanding the macroeconomy, monetary system, and business cycle at its highest levels. When we understand the big picture first, it allows us to build a foundation to assist our clients in navigating the complex maze of global finance.
One of the most important things we do is work with our clients to help them understand their comfort level with risk and how it applies to their investments. By having a comprehensive understanding of the clients’ risk, it allows us to focus on strategies to protect the downside risk in their portfolio. As Warren Buffet said, “Rule No.1 of investing is never lose money. Rule No.2 is never forget rule No.1.”
Focus on what we can control
A core tenet of our due diligence process when selecting investments is portfolio efficiency. We actively strive to select investments that will keep expenses to a minimum and provide tax-efficiency for the client. We also focus heavily on behavior; we strive to help our clients avoid the emotional mistakes that many investors can make when investing.
Custom Asset Management
Lastly, we focus on building and managing custom plans for our clients. We do not believe in a one-size fits all approach to managing assets. Every client has unique goals and circumstances, and we manage your assets around those goals. Rather than assigning a client to a plan that fits many, we design a plan around the individual client.
